Jim Hendry, in a piece today on Cubs.com:

"You're not going to take that chance and sign a guy for three months and trade away three good prospects," Hendry said.

"However," continued Hendry, "if you're signing a guy for six months, it's totally worth it."

Hard to believe this is the same guy who landed Nomar for peanuts. What a fantastic day that was when the deal was announced.

I'll give him credit re: Jacque Jones performing better than I expected with the stick, but it seems Hendry has been in a major slump since the Nomar deal went down two years ago.

Cubs don't have much guys to sell though, it sucks... they need at least one major upgrade in CF and put together a more solid rotation and bullpen to make a run next year..
