At least Wood isn't expect to miss more than a few days. If that had been Carl Pavano instead, the Yanks would have immediately placed him on the 60-day DL and announced an expected return after the All Star Break.

This is significantly less important than it would have been in previous years. Wood's potential contribution to the club is unknown, so it's not like they were counting on him for specific numbers. It's really no big deal.
