Awakening From A Winter Slumber

Cub Town lives!

Sorry about the long delay, but life has been ... busy. But as spring training inches closer (not that you'd know it from the weather) I'll do my best to post regularly.

* * * *

Until I have something more substantial, here's a fun distraction: The Score Bard's Random Diamond Notes.

Example:

Geovany Soto, who has always been considered somewhat liberal, had a dream one night that he was locked inside some Dairy Queens being chased by a giant hippo, and when he woke up he found he had a case of vertigo, which will keep him out six weeks, and the Cubs think they will get by if Carmen Pignatiello, a favorite of Lou Piniella, steps up.

Not trying to get too political here, but what does being "somewhat liberal" have to do with having surreal dreams? That seemed curious to me. But funny anecdote nonetheless. Welcome back!

Sorry, that made no sense. I meant, "Don't you mean, 'A fish'"? As in, How many surrealists does it take to screw in a lightbulb. Ah... never mind.

So! How about them Cubbies? Cubs and Dodgers in the NLCS this year, I can feel it. Or maybe that's just allergies.
