Pitchers and catchers report in just over a week, and spring training will begin not without questions, despite the Cubs' roster restructuring.
So I open it up to you: What are the questions in need of answers; which problems need to be resolved?
I'll start:
Who's playing center field: Jacque Jones or Alfonso Soriano?
If Mark Prior is healthy, who's the odd man out of the rotation?
Who's the closer?
Will the young players get any playing time at all?
Will Soriano hit 3rd (where he belongs) and if so, who will man the top of the order?
Will Miller hit 90 on the radar gun?
Will Theriot have a spot on the roster?
Will Ronny Cedeno make the team?
Will Wood become a reliable closer?
Will Rotschild be able to make Marquis a solid #4 starter?
How will Lilly's transition to the NL work? like Chris Young (very good)? like Derek Lowe (so-so)?
What will be the role of over-achieving Ryan Theriot?
How will Floyd's at-bats affect Murton's long-term progress?
How will Soriano respond after signing such a contract?
Will Z get signed?
How will Piniella work with 3 lefties out of the bullpen (Eyre, Cotts, Ohman)? Is there a trade in the near future?
Will the Iowa Cubs have the best starting rotation in triple-A?
